I painted this from a photo.  I used a palette knife during the last stage...I plan on painting a larger version of it...it needs a little tweaking first. I changed the background color 3 times before I was happy with it.  This flower is from the bouquet of flowers Britt & Kris gave me for Mother's Day.  6x6 acrylic

I liked this still life setup...I could see the pink background bouncing off the white cup and the cast shadow...and the turquoise reflective light.  This was fun to paint!  6x6 acrylic on panel

#17 friday the 13th...

This is salt & pepper shakers I bought at the end of last Easter.  I'm trying to loosen up more on my brushstrokes...not sure if I accomplished that, but I tried.  4x4 acrylic on panel

I decided I didn't like the lighter purplish wall, so I darkened it...this is what I love about acrylics...they dry quickly and can be changed easily.

White is not really white...it's shades of gray...I have been experimenting with grays the past few days. The flower is terrible, but I am pleased with the mug.  6x6 acrylic on panel

I decided that I wanted to paint something different, so I went upstairs and rummaged around in my daughters (she's away at college...6 more weeks til she graduates...yay) bathroom and came up with all kinds of things to paint.  She has so many bottles of old nail polish.  5x5 acrylic

I painted this sheep from an upside down photo...this is my first sheep to ever paint.  I saw this exercise on an artist blog...here.  She taught it in one of her classes.  I kept it simple and left out all the details. 6x6 acrylic

I've definitely decided that scanning my paintings is better than taking a photo.  The flower from yesterday was taken with my camera...no matter what I did, I couldn't get a really good likeness.  I scanned this flower today.  5x5 acrylic on 300lb  wc paper
